The Day of the Dead
Publication Design | Student Work
The Day of the Dead is a very special Mexican tradition where we celebrate life while merging two different ideologies; the past and the present, prehispanic culture, and catholicism.
Everything about this tradition has a purpose and it only takes a bit of interest to find out the hidden meaning of things. In this book, I focus on explaining the symbolism of the different aspects found in this tradition. Through the use of had-made die cuts, illustrations, and extensive research I seek to illustrate how special this tradition is and how ingrained it is in our culture.
